| Briny Hurricane of 1947 |
| The pictures below were taken by Merchant Marine Captain Joseph Clark. They were sent by Dennis Clark (who can be seen in the center of the first photo) through Christy Gauger. The Clark family of five lived in the little trailer with the attached porch. They rode out the storm in the Boynton Elementary School. Captain Clark later built a house on Old Dixie in the south end of Boynton. The big house that was destroyed was the Miller house that stood where the Ocean Clubhouse is now. |
